Republicans with the help of the tea party is going to (or try to) move the country extreme right...........this election just made things complicated!
If you hear both the republicans and tea party - they talk of sticking to core principles. Their principles have not been very good to the middle class..........
This election has emboldened the republicans and further chickened the democrats - the need for compromise is lost...........
CIR may be dead/alive; piecemeal may be the option - either way, meeting with lawmakers to take up our issues just intensified. Especially if piecemeal is the way to go, we have to be meeting with every senator and congressman seeking and getting the support - because not only will the anti immigrants oppose it, we probably will have to fight of the CHC too.
Our community does not have the money or representation in the govt, so our only hope is the aggressive and consistent participation in grassroot efforts and advocate for changes with the lawmakers.

I understand, your 485 is already in pipeline so you already have those band aids but claiming to be sorry portrayed you very selfish. Those are good points. We are not all Indian or Chinese on this website and in my case I moved to the US because of insecurity in my country (got kidnapped twice). If I went back there I could have a top job with a top company (and have had many offers) but that is not a place where I'd like to raise a family.
Before the US I almost moved to China, but then I got the US job offer. I now have the Canada option, but I wouldn't mind moving to India. I have lots of Indian friends and I think Indians are easily one of the very nicest people in the world while being smart too (not conceited), plus they speak English. (Nothing against China, but it would take me at least 3 years to learns OK Chinese)
Anyone have any advice about finding a job in India? (I am serious) I have to have options since my home country is not an option, and in case Canada doesn't work for me. If anyone can give me information on moving to India I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I think, your best bet would be Canada....I don't know your nationality, but Indian immigration laws are tough...work visas are not easy to get...
Montreal is a great city! Very European and multi cultural...you can't avoid French influence, but you don't have to know French to survive...there are some great companies in Montreal...

I read, "why should I support if I am not affected or benefited". This level of selfishness surprises me (or considering average human nature, should not surprise me). Support is for the 'cause' not for the 'outcome' or its direct 'benefits'. If you believe in the cause, go and support; if not, go and oppose.

People are forgetting that legal or illegal both are immigrant and want to have a better life for themselves or for their family compare to what their own country have to offer to them. Where is the difference - look deep into your heart - difference is one has some additional pieces of papers while other does not. Stop differentiating! Start uniting and fight for the justice.

As of now, I believe 217 faxes have been sent.
Last time, I had got 7 of my friends to send the fax ( against my target of 10 ). to make up for the poor performance and to contribute a little bit to the huge efforts done by the core IV team, this time I'll get 25 on Monday when I'm in the office ( good that my manager is out of office :-)

I applied on May18 for I-140 and will be applying to I485 soon.. and would get EAD...so what happens to EAD and AP...I cant beleive they are
waste..Probabaly people with pending I-140 will be subject to the new systems..??..what do you guys think??..Its not pratical to drive people down the Queue again..

According to LC, my labor got approved on Aug 9th, but we received actual paper on Sep 9th .. So lost the chance to FILE 485
DOL took more than a month TO send papers ..
There is no point in blaming IV . They are the BEST ..
It is US Govt agencies who are lazy and ineptitude.
US did not get Civil Rights in one year .. it took decades of fight ...
IV is fighting for every one ..

The title in labor is "Software Engineer"
Now the new job offer has title as "Lead Developer"
and duties are
"The lead developer will be responsible for leading a team to creating components within Java, utilizing standard Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), writing unit test cases and supporting the Testing and Quality Assurance phases of the software development lifecycle."

Indeed if the major concern is the displacement of US workers and outsourcing, the Senator's should also send their questionnaire to companies such as Accenture (essentially a foreign corporation (http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d03194r.pdf)) and IBM Global Consulting among many other companies.

After folks start getting their EAD, God alone knows how many "New" desi bodyshopper's like this will spring up.
All those so called "Enterpreneurs" a.k.a desi bodyshoppers...Perhaps if someone started a company that actually makes something rather than just contracting....more jobs, more value...
I feel everyone of us has the potential to have such a vision...after all isn't this the land of opportunities

The desi companies, while their methods may not be employee friendly, also add value in the chain and that is why they exist. So I don't know what you mean by "actually make something".
