Any idea what's in store for the future...
well the status quo isn't that bad, is it? Gradually, retrogression will reduce. Now that there is no labor sub, there will be roughly a FIFO system. Plus, no increase in H1B should help the future --- as far as retorgression is concerned. another big plus is that current H1B system is intact. This bill would have driven thousands out of H1B status.
So I say: CIR, RUST in PEACE.

the page?? (i didnt even finished it :()
or what they did to me ( yeah, that sucks) :(
and i was only going to recieve 200 dlls for that page, i know it WAS my first job , but i've learned the lesson and i'm going to ask the first half of the price at the begining and the other half at the end :evil:
the only thing makes me happy is that i almost make my 100th post :cowboy: :P

Well, if your H1B is based on approved 140 (post 6 years), even that gets invalidated when your 485 is denied due to revocation of I-140.
According to my lawyer, you can very well work on EAD if your 485 is denied because of USCIS's wrongful decision like not looking at AC21 law, July fiasco PD confusion etc ..if you want to be extra conservative here, u can wait till your MTR is filed and you get a receipt notice to start working again.

I had the same situation and asked my attorney last month. He replied "I-94 # is always the # on the white card which is stapled in your passport", meaning the latest I-94 (white card) given to you at the port of entry. It doesn't matter whether it is expired or not. Hope this answers.
I think the I-94 Numbers should be the same on all I-94's.

So, you can keep driving in Maryland with your Ohio license as long as it's valid but you cannot get a Maryland drivers license because of some stupid notes written on the Ohio license?
This is really frustrating to see how some states target (segregate?) the legal immigrants.

We recieved EADs 3 weeks back and I am planning to apply SSN for my wife and kid.
Can anyone let me know what documents are required to show up at SSN office while applying SSN.

As per my understanding, due to the July 2, 2007 fiasco, Visa dates were unavailable for ALL chargeability areas between July 2nd - July 17th 2007 (i.e until USCIS temporarily made relaxation after protests from IV et al. )
So how can the processing date be July 11th !!
It implies that they are processing a case that was filed/receipted on July 11th !! Whereas as per the Visa bulletin no body should have been able to file a case when PDs were not current during that brief time slot (2nd - 17th of july). So are they processing cases out of thin air !! :) (just kidding...I know some people did contine to file after July 2nd despite dates not being current)
If indeed people did continue to file their papers even after July 2nd (and I think some did), then may be they are processing those (relatively) few applications. But would they allow such applications. I guess they are...they are atleast processing them :) , whether or not they will honor such filings I dont know....

I filed my I485 mid 2003. I missed the boat end of 2004, some where in 2005 and then in 2007 when my dates were current. My pd is in 2002. People who filed with me have been approved and they are ready for citizenship next year :mad:, while I got my 6th EAD approved
You mean all these years you were stuck in name check or something ? Are you EB3 India ? 6th EAD is too many EADs to believe....wish you get your GC soon.

7% limit is for the each category (like EB 7%) then seperate 7% for FB.

We are planning to visit India in the month of November. We are looking to stamp our passport with H1B/H4 visas at Mumbai. How we can select appointment dates for the week of November 9 to November 13.
I have tried to look at VFS website (https://www.vfs-usa.co.in) but not showing any dates after month of July...
Can anyone please help me?

Now my concern is ,
1)would there be any problem during the Visa stamping?
no. there is no law against 2 h1s. Any problems you might face would be related more to your qualifications, the company that is sponsoring you etc.
2)What should i do to other visa ,which i will be not using?
ignore it, it does not matter
3)How should i approach the employer whose employment i will be not accepting?
wait for your visa stamping to come through with one employer, then inform the other one that you wont be able to accept his job offer
4)I have signed one offer letter from the employer but other employer had not provided me with the offer leter.so whom should i join?
signing the offer letter is also not too late to switch employers (though its bad form). See which company is better based on other things:
- is one a regular company with a job already for you and the other a consultant who still has to place you
- where are the offices? Is one in the big hubs like silicon valley, new jersey/new york, austin, dallas, phoenix etc? Is it in a place where the standard of living might be hard based on your salary (1bed apartments rent range anywhere from 200 bucks to 1200 bucks depending on whether you are in arkansas or bay area). Is one in a place where the weather might be too harsh for you.
- what is the profile of the two employers (which one is more reachable, friendly)? If both are consultants, which one is bigger, with a better client list.
- salary, benefits of each of them.
all in all, even if you pick teh 'wrong' employer, you can always come here and then change...
