I appreciate all the cowards, who gave me red, just because I'm talking about basic rights for all, including them and they are hell bent on finding the legal ways how not to raise your voice. They will wait decades and then kicked out, but wont raise there voice.
Well thanks for the green as wel, for those , who really are willing to stand up for there rights.
We are in this mess, because the majority of the stake holders are just scared to even stand up for themselves. But I ain't loosing hope.

Anyways, don't you think we should behave a little better in public forums? (I'm referring to the language in your post)

Roy Beck, Norman Matloff and Lou Dobbs are jerks, these clearly racist, xenophobic assholes have some appeal to the fringes of the right and a few on the left.
Most of the Democratic lawmakers give a damn to these idiots.
I rarely call anyone a racist - but here it is, the evidence is all there on Youtube, and the internet.
Sorry for the language IV - but these freaks deserve it.
No need to apologize. All these desperate actions show that NumbskullsUSA is scared and trying hard to scuttle this by any means - fair or foul. More power to us and wishing failure for their evil racist agenda. NumbskullsUSA should be designated as a hate group like the KKK.

wait, Franklin,
1. Did you get already your GC approved?
Yes
2. I think you DO need PD to be current for GC approval. In best case scenario, GC could be approved in matter of 10-15 days, so for July filers there were some GC numbers available, and few lucky ones got their approvals. This is how I see it... please correct me if I'm wrong.
I thought the same too, and I think it was the incredibly rare exception - I must have been assigned a visa number VERY quickly and probably benefited from the confusion at the agencies in the summer. AOS applied early June, FP was completed early July, and I am lucky to have a pretty unusual name. My PD was April 04, my card was received before the DC rally - Visa Bulletin for my category was Aug 02 at the time of approval... .
3. It would be interesting if shimul99 would share with us as when exactly his status was adjudicated. I've read somewhere that there are cases, that people got their GCs approved by mistake and lawyers suggested to inform CIS and return the GC. These people were then having their statuses adjudicated when their PDs were becoming current.
Sorry - I missed these questions...
The system is unfair and broken. Just because I benefited from the current system, doesn't make that statement false

Lets find real information. Don't start guessing game (unless you just love the mess you are in). Please contribute on FOIA thread.
Something I notice here and would like to get your opinions..
People who donate their time and money to IV, understand and appreciate the efforts by IV volunteers to fix the broken immigration system do not usually get into this guessing game. Am I wrong?

You can't get more than 10K people to sign up to IV.
And you can't get more than 300 people to sign up for $20 per month.
What makes you think you can convince 20-30K people to move with you?
:)

pg. 53:
"There will be severe consequences from rapid fluctuations in priority dates. If the priority date became current today, due to delayed USCIS processing and thus underutilization of visa numbers, some have predicted that within a few months as many as 500,000 to 750,000 individuals now residing in the United States under a temporary worker visa could apply for a green card. Additionally, DOLs recent backlog elimination efforts, scheduled to be completed by September 30, 2007, are predicted to add 70,000 or more approved labor certifications yielding as many as 170,000 additional green card applications. As USCIS begins to complete these applications and request visa numbers from DOS, the 140,000 statutorily authorized visa numbers will be used. DOS then will be required to retrogress priority dates. Consequently, most applicants in this scenario will find themselves trapped where as they anticipated timely receipt of a green card, their wait exceeds seven or more years. In addition, all future employment-based green card applicants effectively would be barred from applying for many years."

Generally most companies are comfortable doing a 1099 on Corp to Corp than doing a 1099 with an individual. In both cases it is 1099 and company pays $$ as agreed.
There is one major difference why companies want to do business with consulting firms rather than individuals as the perception is when doing business with a firm as opposed to individual you deal with so many people (not just one) who share the responsibilities. If for some reason things don't work with the consultant the company can request the consulting firm to provide substitute so on so forth.
Also firms are perceived financially Strong, can afford $3M+ insurance (just in case something goes wrong) while individual may not be in similar position
it is always better to go with a Consulting firm rather than going individually (Pros certainly outweigh all the cons)
If you have a GC you can incorporate your own company and work ( If you are ready to take additional headache, If not better work for a consulting firm)

comparing India and US by GDP does not make sense.(it is like comparing heaven and earth ..but though US may be rich ..the question is are you becoming rich here ..which varies from person to person) actually when you make a decision to go back ..the question to ask if do I have a better future in India or US. India is growing but you have rotten, stupid, dumbF, (you can keep adding adjectives here) politicians ..just see the recent quota policy endorsed by none other than Manmohan singh.
but if you feel family ties are more important, children will get better education in India //then make a move. but it is one way street as far as US is concerned ..because it is next to impossible to come back and start over again ..the good thing is US is losing its sheen while India is getting better in terms of jobs and other countries are becoming more welcome.
for many ..quality of life in India is much better (in terms of social / party life) ..and I guess they know how to play the system. one of my friends who is a US citizen ..is completely relocating to Pune ..taking with him 20 years of savings / investment ..
All things in life has PROS and CONS. Hindsight is always 20/20.
I recently visited India Western and Northern) after 4.5 years. I was totally shocked.. India has become better and better. But all better comes with some bad too. Like staying in USA has the same as well good and bad.
Anyways, we all made choice (we were not pushed/forced) to come here. Again, it is our own choice to go back if we want to. Also, if life in US is better or India is better, cannot be judged as it all depends on each individuals thinking and position.
I can tell you about my sister(Real sister), she and her family moved to Mumbai in 2006 and came back two months back. Both Sister and Bro-in-law were doing great here(became US citizens 5 years back), they wanted to move just because of kids. They came back because of their kids.
IMHO let’s put this topic to rest.

Reading the article I see that Neelima is, in fact, a US citizen of indian origin; not even an H1-B or GC. So lesson for us - getting a GC may be a convenience for us, but we are naive to think our troubles will end with it.Red neckers of the likes of Loo and his cronies arent suddenly going to accept us as one of them - rather, this is a life long struggle of the kind the african americans had to go through for centuries (and to some extent are still going through). Only wish ABCDs like Ron Hira realize that as well.
Yes you are right. We need patience till you get your GC...I know its hard but there is no other way but swallow that pride. Its very hard to do that..speaking of which this anti-indian guy who sits next to me at work was making life horrible for few weeks. Things are sorted out now... I have a great Manager.
I really feel sorry for Neelima's family... wish I could have helped them.

Mexico is lobbying for all out amnesty. Their backlog is far lesser .
Mexican PD's from the visa bulletin:
EB3: 08SEP04
Other: 08SEP03
Isn't this far away enough?
