I filed at TSC, transferred to CSC, receipted, transferred to NSC - so not exactly the same situation. Interesting to note your case filed on 7/27/07 is being processed.

RD: 07/02/2007.
USCIS says they're processing by ND ("when it was entered... ").
Signs of life @NSC, nevertheless.... :)

I got RFE on my case my case is NSC-CSC-NSC Transfer. Got Soft LUD in last 2 days and got RFE mail yesterday night. Waiting to hear back from lawyer about type of RFE. But atleast seems like they had started working on my case and if no RFE it would have been approved.

Sorry to break the bad news but technically the grounds for H1 extensions are no longer valid. Your only chance is if your appeal is in process because that keeps your application alive. Also recommended is to file a fresh PERM asap.

Since this is not concurrent filing, i think the fees will increase on July 30th.

Hi
I was under the impression that there would be some talks about the discussed bills on floor this week.I see no signs of any debate or any discussion.I have some read some posts saying that nothing would happen this year. This really confuses me as I had & I think many of us had hopes that coming weeks would decide something.
I would appreciate if someone could give everyone very clear picture of what going on ?

You can apply for a PCC from Regional Passport Office. I got mine for Rs.300/- at the Passport office in just 2 days and its very simple. If you want a PCC from Police Department its a big hassle in India, you can approach only the Superintendent/Commissioner's Office to request one. Mostly Police in India demand money for these kind of simple things, its nothing but "bribe" which I'm against.

Friends, my EAD/AP will expire later this year along with my 8th year H-1B extension. My 140 isn't approved yet. Now, what happens if my employer wants to cut costs and says let's extend only your H-1B for now and let your EAD/AP expire? If I'm not wrong, filing for H-1B/H4 extension is cheaper than that for EAD/AP.
Specifically, these are my questions:
1. Can I extend EAD/AP on my own?
2. If I let my EAD/AP expire and continue working on H-1B, can I reinstate them (EAD and AP) at a later date in the future once my 140 is approved? In this scenario, there will be a gap between two successive EAD/APs.

After QGA and IV and all of us sending so many faxes etc, they did not even mention about EB visa issue in the SJC.

in the least balming anyone. I for one feel IV has done exemplary work.
But the critical question is do we need to do anything different ?
Core memebers of IV, ragz4u et al, do you think we need to take a harder look and see if we are on the right path ? Did something not work as expected ? I read in one of the core memebrs post that IV members are in DC talking to senators office. Did senators office play ignorant in the SJC after being sympathetic to us ? What baffles me atleast, is the total
apathy and seeming ignorance to our issue on the part of senators. After all
our efforts. What went wrong ?

I am planning to go outside US for three weeks, I am planning to enter using AP (I485 is pending), my H1B extension is pending (no receipt). my H1 is expired.
The questions are :
1. With above conditions, will everything be ok when I come back esp with my H1B extension process ? can I get H1B approval ? this is my fourth extension.
2. Do I need to surrender my expired I-94 at POE ?
3. When I come back from vacation, can I still use H1B status for working ? because I will enter using AP (status : parolee) and my H1B extension is pending.
