I believe you are all missing the point.
The studios want HDCP over DVI and HDMI or whatever. There are no current systems that properly use it, even if they say they do, because the licenses or permissions have not been distributed yet and they are HARDWARE objects.
HARDWARE is Apple's forte.
I suspect iTV is actually a series of devices that properly implement HDCP to suit the studios that demand seamless and enforceable content protection. As mentioned, mainly to protect the asset of a time sensitive and expensive major movie release.
There are really only two premium price revenue timeframes for movies. A few weeks after theatrical release and a few months after DVD (now online) release. They simply want to protect the "premiumness" of the price.
Apple does that in computers with methods to try to prevent installation and proper use of OSX on any computer but an Apple. It mainly works.
So I suspect we will see a "new" video iPod and iTV as a breakout box for your existing TV, and iTV enabled LCD TV's in the "media release".
Then no studio will hesitate.

Don't think it's neccessary. I don't think people take the video out on their ipods and record them onto DVD using DVD recorders....

I don't get why Americans like bigger cars. Maybe it's the old mantra of bigger is better? Myself, I have a honda civic Si. It's a fun car to drive; a little lift-off oversteer when you want to fool around, good handling and road holding when you want to go fast. It may only have a measly 160 hp, with 130 Ft/lbs torque, but it'll get me from 0-60 in under 7.5 seconds (almost 2 seconds quicker than a v6 charger) if I do my part massaging the short-shift 5-speed. Super stable even at top speed (140 mph) Best part? I put 10 gallons in when the fuel light comes on, and I'm good to go for another 300 miles. Super easy to park because it's so small... AAAND it's a honda, it'll run forever :)
Ok, I rambled a little bit... If anything, VW should be sending us more of its european fleet. Give us more R32's and sexy sexy sciroccos. Send us some phaetons if you want a larger car, or better yet, why not get an estate?

I am a technology geek and have worked in the IT industry for over 20 years but I just don't 'get' Twitter ?
Afraid I'm missing something - can anyone enlighten me as to why Twitter is such a great thing ?:o
twitter to me at a personal level that RSS did at a website level. the way i use twitter is to "follow" people that mean something to me. Graphic designers, musicians, comedians, celebrities, and of course friends. Its great to get incite in what these creative minds are doing through out the day. I don't care what a certain person ate for breakfast, but that certain person might have a really awesome link to share. thats the key to twitter. link sharing.
I also use twitter to research. If i am interested in a product, i will type in the product into twitter search and you get instant results to what real people are saying in real time. Thats how i use Twitter, and see some of its benefits.

Pity Isilons suck. Great for IT, bad for the end-user. They support all sorts of protocols, none of them properly.
Better tweak your kernel's delayed ack attribute or you'll be serving data at dial-up modem speeds.
Are you joking? I use a 4 node IQ12000X cluster on a daily basis over both NFS and SMB and the performance is nothing short of amazing.
Still, you don't buy Isilon for raw performance. You purchase it for data protection. They let you specify protection levels for directories and even individual files. That means the critical stuff gets extra protected, and the non-critical stuff doesn't waste 3x its weight in disk space. Pretty slick stuff if you ask me.
Also, their OS is based on FreeBSD, and I suspect they get a bit of help from Apple since their OS development seems to take a few turns now and then at the same time Apple does. ;)

Haha someone actually remembers me! (*feels loved*:o) but the wallpaper is 1280x800 since I could only find a album cover the size of around 1400pixels.
I've included that too if your monitor isn't 16:10 or something (The cover art is 1425, if you stretch it to 1440 it shouldn't look that much worse at all).
Enjoy! I'm really looking forward to the new album! :)
Thanks a lot buddy.
Can't wait for the new album. Already pre-ordered and everything.
Thanks once again :)

HOT! If only I could afford to buy one! LOL! :p
However, I will search for one of these in a 1:18 diecast model. At least, I can afford that! :D

Much better than the old one. Too bad GM insists on selling the I4 LTZ for the same price of a Fusion V6.

What really busts our budget are the mind-boggling amounts we spend on our entitlement programs--Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid (especially Medicare and Medicaid). These programs are wildly more expensive than any other budget items, and they're also growing like weeds.
If we don't get Medicare and Medicaid expenses under control, the USA will go broke, pure and simple. And yet, almost no one in Washington has the stones to even talk about this, let alone do something about it. They just kick the can down the road.
One of the problems with many of the 'solutions' means that as an after-affect, Americans will starve, and some may even die due to not getting necessary medical care. So yes, we, as a country, can cut back on these programs, but does that mean we should cut back these programs with their potential side-effects? How do people on this forum feel about budget reductions that will make people have to decide whether they get the medication that they need or eat more than once a day?
I don't think anyone can appreciate Medicare and (especially) Medicaid until you can see first hand just what these programs do for so many people.
Financial issues? Yes. Any good current solution?
Here is a place to start...we need to think long and hard about how we save money, as well as its potential benefits and consequences. We also need to think about how we can make our money go further than it currently is. Let's not cut back programs in the immediate; let's work from the bottom up. So my idea is to examine how we can keep the current level of quality (or increase it), while simultaneously reducing operating and administrative costs.
This is possible, at least in my field. One place to start would be reverting to the concept and practice of Evidence Based Medicine, which is using medical services and medication that has proven effectiveness. This means not using/paying for treatments of questionable outcomes or experimental and unproven medications. Often this actually results in a better outcome for both your pockets and your health, as newer medical technology is generally more expensive, and if you go right to using a treatment that we know does work, treatment comes quicker because time is not wasted on things which do not work. This concept seems to have originated from numerous European countries, and IMO was perfected by the Nordic Countries years ago.
Here is an example; let's take the top selling drugs in the US:
1) Lipitor ($14.5 Billion)
2) ADVAIR ($6 Billion)
3) Plavix ($6 Billion)
4) Nexium ($5 Billion)
1) Evidence of Lipitor actually affecting ultimate outcomes is questionable. Yes, it lowers stats on paper, but if it reduces the chances of dying is still disputed. Also, it has a side effect profile which can make one's life a living nightmare.
2) ADVAIR is probably worth the money given its ability and lower side effect profile than other steroids used for asthma
3) Plavix outcomes can also be disputed
4) Nexium is essentially Prilosec. Ultimate outcomes of 40mg Nexium versus an equal dose Prilosec are almost identical, and differences are not statistically significant. Nexium is marketed as being better because Prilosec through sneaky studies that were published by the pharmaceutical company that makes it by using a lower dose of Prilosec and testing Nexium against medical issues that Prilosec was never marketed for. It is a Me Too Drug to the tenth power. A year's worth of generic Prilosec costs less than one week of Nexium.
See how I am working this? Things like this can be considered and the effectiveness versus the costs needs to be given more detail. Just my 2 cents.

My preview in PathFinder shows the text but is still jumbled up. How did you show the converted binary file there?
I have no idea. That's how it's always been for me. I assume it uses the plist converter from Xcode. What versions are you running? I'm using path finder build 1045, Xcode build 4b33a, and OSX build 11a444d.

Have you called Other World Computing to ask them if they will both work together?
If they will, I would start checking power supply lead voltages, you could be experiencing a power supply failure causing an undervoltage occurrence to the cards, thus causing a kernel panic.
He didn't buy them from OWC and they also don't support the card near as well as the manufacturer even if he did buy it there.
A few hard drives with stock video is never going to be too much power for a 400 watt PSU. Even with the full 6 drives he wants to use thats only maybe 75-90 watts. The dual 867 card would use maybe 55 watts tops. All thats left is the stock geforce 4 MX, optical drive and the system fans which wouldn't add up to anymore than maybe 120 watts. 90+55+120=265 watts. Because there were more powerful video upgrades out at the time of the MDD they allowed an extra 150 watts or so for power hungry cards. ie. 9800 pro and Geforce 7800.

Hah.
It will be satisfying as an abused/ex- mac fan to see Steve's latest toy quaintly arranged on a folding table by a tired old woman -- right next to beard trimmers and wine-bottle sleeves.
