This is what I said to Leekohler last week in another thread (you really didn't searched very well...), he came with the same question:
"Here we go again... In short folding @ home is a project from Stanford University. You can download a small app on you computer and let it do its stuff. What it does is simulating proteines, and let the geniusses at Stanford understand proteines better and why they develop the way it does, like diseases, like cancer and everything in the human body. We are giving the folks at Stanford time on our computers. For every WorkUnit we get points. We are in a team. So we are "battling" each other, but also other teams. I have one with identical specs to the above. It had XP Pro installed on the hard drive but that either failed or has a loose connector. New HD would be pretty cheap. $50, shipped.

Computer: MBP (December 2010)
Primary OS: OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6
Secondary OS: Windows XP SP3 via Bootcamp

Windows drivers installed after installing XP? YES, I installed the drivers via the OS X installation disc.

Symptoms: When in Windows XP mode, I tried using a using a USB wireless mouse. However, the controls go semi-haywire when doing so. It appears to be producing rapid-clicking on its own. The problem goes away about 10 minutes after unplugging it (although it's wireless, I do have to plug in the USB receiver into the MBP).

Does anyone else have this problem? Any idea on a solution?

I tried playing with the Bootcamp control panel in Windows, as well as the USB devices options in the Windows XP control panel. No luck yet.

PS, the mouse is a plug-n-play device. No drivers needed.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a software solution to work on scanned pages containing images and text. I want to be able to edit the text and the images easily.
I have a Canon DR-2010 and use Readiris 12 for OCR, but I can't export to Pages.
Should I go for Office for Mac or Photoshop or ...?
Anybody out there having done that?

ClausYou can't export to Pages. However, you can save to .doc and .docx, either of which can be opened in Pages.

Always set up Boot Camp before the VM solution you are trying to share that install with.

Check out the "install windows from USB" and "install windows without super drive" for an approach that uses Parallels to copy the files onto the partition, prepares it for boot and then completes the Boot Camp install normally.

Once that's working go back and launch your Boot Camp in parallels.

BTW, what happened to the formatting on the Category:Ports (http://guides.macrumors.com/Category:Ports) page? Why is it separating the S's like that, and making it a weird grid instead of a simple list of articles??
The category system arranges its tables in deep, dark, mysterious ways. It will look better when the article count grows a little.
Also, why when forwarding the Ports (http://guides.macrumors.com/Ports) page to the Category:Ports does it not show the entire category?
I put in the syntax tweak that should have made it work, but apparently this bug (http://bugzilla.wikipedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=710) is still unfixed. Can't get there from here :(

Another vote for WordPress here. Seriously, it is so damn adaptable there really isn't much of a reason not to use it.

Whether to use WordPress.com or just WordPress on a self-hosted solution is another matter however. Personally I'd vote for self hosted but of course hosting it on WordPress.com, if you don't need the flexibility, definitely is cheaper and of course it takes away the issue of having to worry about what hosting solution to go with, but hosting it yourself gives you more flexibility plus the ability to install your own plugins/themes.

First off there was some kind of odd dhcp issue with airport extreme prior firmware 7.5.2 wich could introduce this problem. update the firmware if it is @ the latest.


As I mentioned, it's not the router. A Belkin N+ did the same thing on this Pro. It's the MacBook for sure.

You will easily be able to set up an Austrian account using fake info and getting PSN cards for that country. However, if you're just going to set up the one account, may I suggest an American one as the US PSN Store has a much greater choice of PSP and PSone games. You'll just need to find some kind soul who can purchase US PSN cards on your behalf and email you the codes.

Edit: Just remembered that the 10 free games thing is Europe only. I think you only get 3 free games with a US account. Bugger.

You're probably best off asking on the ableton forums really.

40% seems pretty normal though and should still allow you to do plenty of work, is it causing you any problems?
