All 3 - checks cashed on Oct 11. I got the reciept no.s on the back of the checks. When can I expect to recieve the notices? I am planning travel by the end of this month. Is that OK to travel with just the reciept no's or do I need to have the reciept notices with me. Also I have a valid H1 visa till 2009. Advice greatly appreciated.

This email is useless as nowhere in the email the alien's name is mentioned.
In USCIS website you only have the option to add a case with the receipt number. They don't verify whether this case belongs to you or not.
If your company/attorney gives you a receipt # that belongs to another person�s I-140 application, still you will get this email.
The only option you have is to request for a copy of I-140 using G-639 form under FOIA.
If you subscribe on USCIS website you will get email indicating and saying like:
The following is the latest information on your case status
Receipt Number:XXXXXX (i maksed it to hide my info)
Application Type: I140 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status:
This case has been approved. On June 12, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

I didn't receive any confirmation from USCIS regarding interfiling.
Interfiling was submitted on Jan15th - On Feb 15th my case status was updated as "Denial Notice Sent"

I also see lot of LUDs on my I485 application. We filed our application on July 19th but the receipt date is November 1st. We received all our EADs and APs within 3 weeks and got our FP done on December 5th. Since then I am seeing bunch of LUDs on my I485. Even today they accessed my file. I am EB3 India with PD May 2004. My I140 was approved in 2006 and got an LUD on November 11th.

I think H1B quota should be decreased because lots of people available with no jobs in the market, it looks like survival of fittest, even person with good skill set not getting job immediately due to new new consulting company coming into market doing irregular things like less rates etc etc�����. to survive themselves.

In my case ,to avoid the hassels and to have a permanent(?) address in i-485, i took a new lease a month early than what i thought initially . (So I ended up paying rent at two places becase of the July bulletin and USCIS address change horror stories that i heard ) . a thousand dollar clean waste.Another way USCIS helping US economy

I don't care about any in-state tution or financial assistance .
My question is, is it possible to even file for COS from H4 to F1 after getting F1 denied in India .
Here is the timeline
Nov 2010 - COS from H4 to F1 approved in US.
Dec 2010 - Went to india for F1 Stamping and it was denied.
Jan 2011 - Came to US on H4 visa .
Now is it possible to apply for COS to F1 again ? . Will the F1 denial in India have any impact on COS to F1 processing ?
Sure she can apply for COS to F1. I am not sure what impact denial in India will have, but its worth a shot. However, for OPT the student needs to be in F1 status for at least 1 academic year - so check with her school if she will meet the OPT requirement after switching back to F1
